Jurisprudence Database

Jurisprudence Database

A global database of national and international conflict-related sexual violence jurisprudence anchored in UNODC’s existing Sharing Electronic Resources and Laws on Crime (SHERLOC) portal.

The CRSV Jurisprudence Database provides investigators, prosecutors, and victim-survivor representatives with the latest jurisprudence on sexual violence crimes and approaches used to successfully prosecute them.

This first-of-its-kind resource is publicly accessible through UNODC’s Sharing Electronic Resources and Laws on Crime (SHERLOC) portal, alongside case law on sexual and gender-based violence and related transnational crimes.

The database includes landmark cases by national, regional and international jurisdictions with regards to conflict-related sexual violence which are searchable by keywords to easily find relevant jurisprudence to support ongoing cases. More than 20 case summaries of landmark cases are already available through the Database, with more to follow in due course.

The case summaries accessible on the CRSV Jurisprudence Database are available in several languages, including all six UN languages, through the Google Translate function.
